I'm sure everyone would love to know how you got into music and what your path has been like!

Music has always been a big part of my life -- my mom likes to tell a story in which 3-year old me, dressed up in white gloves, sings the Sinead O'Connor version of "Nothing Compares 2 U" to her from my lofted playroom of our old apartment in NYC. I went on to be in school choirs and musicals, and then kind of abandoned my own music for a long stretch during college. After I graduated and started working different jobs, I always felt like a creative outlet was missing, and I started writing music a few years ago just to challenge myself and give myself something to achieve outside of my day to day work. I never meant it to be larger than just that, but some amazing folks took an interest in working with me and it began to take on a life of its own. I would say that my path has been circuitous, and required a ton of hard work, luck, and optimism.

What is your favorite song that you've ever written?

This is impossible to answer! Each song is special to me for different reasons, and I have specific memories connected to each one, whether from the writing process, the recording stages, a live performance, or some other phase of severe emotional attachment.

Any exciting upcoming projects we should know about??

I spent the last year moving cross-country and reconfiguring a lot of my life, which made it hard to focus on writing (not to mention, moving around when you play piano can be difficult just because your tool of choice isn't readily available most of the time) -- but now I'm more settled in, and I'm starting to revisit some songs I never completed or recorded, and think about the next chapter -- so I do think new songs are coming!
