We were beyond stoked to visit one of our favorite artists, ceramacist Stephanie Shih and her studio manager Alli Gelles (an incredible artist in her own right!) at their insane new studio on the 28th floor of 4 World Trade (!!!)!
We'd long been fans of her hyper realistic ceramic sculptures depicting everyday food & items but really fell hard after seeing her recent show at Harawik Gallery featuring all things Lower East Side Chinese & Jewish culinary history. I'll be dreaming of the Manischewitz Bottle till the day I die..
It was a dream to visit her studio and talk about everything from her favorite foods to sculpt, the most bizarre client requests she's ever received and what it's like working in such an unexpected place.
